KATE PHILP
Kate's lively landscapes and seascapes are always in great demand and she has exhibited widely since taking up painting full time in 1997. Born in Africa and brought up in Scotland, Kate currently lives on the Berwickshire coast and takes inspiration from the jagged cliffs and sandy beaches that dominate her surroundings. The West Coast and Islands also feature prominently in Kate's work and their unique combination of turquoise waters and miles of empty white beaches are a recurring feature.
Alongside her landscapes Kate also paints still life and figurative works and has latterly begun to experiment with more abstract canvases. She uses acrylic and watercolour to achieve the combination of texture and subtlety that has become her trademark.
