KATE BROOKS

Kate grew up on a farm in Leicestershire and began drawing at a young age, making use of the family menagerie of animals as her models. She painted her first animal portraits for family and friends whilst still at school and, after a degree in Arabic and Spanish at Edinburgh University and a brief spell working in London, she decided to return to painting full-time. She is now based back in Leicestershire where she divides her time between animal portrait commissions and her own sporting and wildlife paintings.

Kate has contributed to a number of exhibitions in London, including at the Arndean Gallery, Cork Street, and the Mall Galleries, as well as at many other galleries throughout the U.K. including the Wykeham Gallery, Hampshire, and the House of Bruar Gallery, Perthshire. She has also exhibited for the past few years at the CLA Game Fair with the sponsorship of Brewin Dolphin Securities.

Kate was the 2008 winner of the Art for Youth Diana Brooks Prize at the Mall Galleries, London.
