Art Amatoria was launched by Caroline Hay at the beginning of 2009 to showcase emerging and established contemporary artists. We are based in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town where we regularly put on exhibitions of new and affordable art. Please see our Exhibitions page for details.
We hold a small stock of 20th century works of art and are always looking for new acquisitions should you be interested in selling.
Art Amatoria also provides a consultancy service for anyone looking to build up an art collection. We offer sound advice and assistance to professional and private clients to guide you through the sometimes daunting process of buying art.
All of the art on our website is for sale and available to view in the gallery by appointment.
The name Art Amatoria roughly translates as ‘The Love of Art’ and is taken from Ovid’s Ars Amatoria (‘The Art of Love’).
